Overwatch is currently in full swing of its Anniversary Event, with lots more limited loot, a handful of well sought after legendary skins and season 5 of competitive play underway. However, Blizzard have decided that this isn’t enough to commemorate the anniversary of Overwatch’s release, and have announced a brand new playable map.
Fans of Overwatch have been awaiting a new map for a while now, with Oasis and Eichenwalde being the two newest large maps, a new one has been long overdue. One thing we did expect but haven’t received, is a new hero.
Whilst Blizzard have showered us with new goodies now including a entirely new map, surely a great commemorative change would be adding a new hero to the list. The last new hero, Orisa, whilst a great hero and thoroughly enjoyed by the community, fell a little flat in comparison to other newer hero’s, so I expect Blizzard will want to make up for this with a new, incredible hero and a new branch of Overwatch lore to accompany them.
After posting a news article on communications with Horizon Lunar Colony to hype up the new map release, Blizzard have released a promotional video displaying the new map which you can watch below:
